BRRRR>>>>

Today we used shortening and ice to show how animals use the adaptation of blubber to survive in extreme cold.  We contrasted our bare hands in ice to the "blubber" insulated hand stuck down in the shortening.  Our bare hands got cold quickly, but we were able to keep our blubber hands in the ice for a long time.  When we pulled our hands out of the glove, they were still pretty warm.  Our other fingers were pretty cold!
Mr. Hill even hopped into our "Arctic Zone" :)

Our I can statement for the week was: I can identify animal adaptations and describe how they help an animal survive in their habitat.

We SURELY can do this!  We have our test tomorrow over animal adaptations.  We will start diving deeper into habitats later this week.  By next week, we will be looking all around Georgia at the habitats right here in our home state.  Please remember to study for the test!! The students have a review/study guide coming home tonight.
